Does this sound familiar?
✔️ Regular tutoring & anxiety intervention didn’t work, or didn’t improve performance.
✔️ Your student needs support organizing thoughts for writing, reading and speaking in groups.
✔️ Planning or presenting high-quality assignments is challenging.
✔️ Anxiety, motivation, & memory issues are constant obstacles.
✔️ You worry your child won’t be ready for high school or college-level communication.
Can you relate?
You're a busy parent needing flexible support. Fixed days all year haven’t worked for you.
You want proven, specialist-led help with experience in your child’s learning issues.
You want access to small group and individualized support.
Your student just feels anxious about school, and you’re unsure how to help.
Yes, your student might be struggling due to a specific learning or anxiety issue but this is a NATIONAL PROBLEM.
On average 66% of 4th grade children in the U.S. can
not read proficiently. Half of U.S. adults can't read a book written on an 8th grade level. Curriculum wars, screen time and a massive qualified teacher shortage have created confusion and a lack of excellence in education. Many of my students write very little at school and creative writing heavily supports higher level reasoning. Our students are not writing, reading or participating in academic talk at the levels needed to make their own critical evaluations of the world. While I support and utilize many skills taught in the Science of Reading methods, the heavy shift towards skill based reading in lower grades has meant that kids are losing exposure to the interesting characters and well developed story lines real books offer. As a result they often struggle in middle school to write and tell their own stories. Which causes problems far outside of the classroom.
COMMUNICATION PROBLEM.
YES we want our students to do well on the tests that determine their future options. However, the REAL consequence of struggling with reading, academic talk and writing is that students do not feel confident sharing their ideas. Reading critically and writing clearly are life skills not just school performance issues. Google slide presentations, worksheets and software programs are not going to prepare our kids for a complex world information. We can already see that playing out in real time across American politics and media.

Depending on your student’s formal diagnosis & how it matches to Christina’s five certifications this might mean our services are HSA eligible. It also means that our program can register for Georgia Promise Scholarship funds. We hope to take our first GPS students in fall of 2025. If your state has a funding program lets see if we qualify!
What Students Are Saying
“I was surprised I made real friends. Some of us play games online between classes.”
“I was nervous about reading and writing in a group but it has been good for me. I really didn’t know I could write as much as I do now.”
“I thought tutoring would be boring but it is better with other kids my age.”
“I like that I can do the sessions at home. We start with a game and that gets me in the mood to do the rest of the session. I feel like it’s making a difference. My grades are better.”
MEET CHRISTINA
I am a K to 12 Literacy Specialist and the founder of Conscious Tutoring.
I have an M.Ed. degree in literacy and additional (active) teaching certifications in giftedness, reading intervention, English language learning and in the Orton-Gillingham approach. I have been teaching and training teachers for 14 years. During that time I have been lead educator at a Smithsonian affiliated museum, founded a school in Atlanta, GA and worked in a large local K to 8 charter school in a variety of roles. I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of students in every stage of their reading and writing journey. Outside of tutoring hours I coach adults full time using an emotional management method called embodiment.
The connection between emotions, the body, relationships and learning is my passion.
As a mom of three school-age kids (ages 11, 14 and 16) I know the struggles of being a working parent and trying to build a strong culture of communication while balancing activities and family time. So I want you to know you are in safe hands!
Our teacher’s are highly degreed, certified and I manage the program myself. I also lead teach many of the groups and do all of the 1-1 assessments. Your student will work with me and any other teacher that works with your child will be as experienced, qualified and passionate as I am.
When you book a 30 minute call you can expect me to listen to your child's needs and then let you know how the program works based on your student. This is not a big box tutoring company. I really believe in frequent and team oriented Literacy intervention. If kids are spending more time outside of school on learning I want it to be with friends and with the kind of support combination that creates actual results. Repetition is the most important part of any intervention.
Our pricing is transparent and we work hard to be in line with any funding options that will help our families make this work.

What Parents Are Saying
“My son has been very reluctant to get tutoring help. Being at home, having friends in the sessions and only having to focus for 45 minutes have made this a perfect setting for him. I am wowed by his reading pace and progress. He seems more confident in general which is everything.”
— Erica, Parent, 2023
“I appreciate this program’s ability to gently nudge my son into more challenging reading material and writing exercises using step by step, concrete skills that build upon each other. Christina’s genuine belief in him to ‘strengthen his reading and writing muscles’ has been invaluable in strengthening his confidence academically for the things that are fun and even not so fun! When kids feel supported relationally, they are better equipped to believe in themselves, and Christina does this well. We look forward to continuing working with her."
— Caroline Gebhardt, LPC, RYT
“My son was so proud when he finished his first book-club book. He wants to be caught up before his next meeting. When it was was time to sign up again my son asked to re-join so he could keep meeting with the group of boys he had formed friendships with. I can not remember the last time my son finished a chapter book at home..”
— Spring 2023 Parent
“Paxton has thrived under this tutoring. The dynamic approach of ... incorporating group time has helped Paxton's focus. Working amongst other children has helped him to solve problems and learn in ways other than his own. Working in a group builds confidence, teaches him to stop and listen to other's ideas as well as learn from other students."
— Dana Stone, 2023
“I am SO grateful we found this program last summer and for the huge influence you’ve had on Ryder. I’d been so anxious about Ryder starting middle school and I knew how much he needed some coaching and extra help with reading and writing to be able to perform his best. And I also knew that his dad and I were NOT the people to do that and also be able to maintain a positive relationship with him. Knowing you were there to push him, listen to him, help him, care for him, ALL THE THINGS, was so comforting. I’m just so glad he has you to help him navigate these weird, wonderful and hard middle school years. I’m a firm believer that it really does take a village and I'm super grateful to have you as part of ours. Looking forward to another great semester!"
