The Founder of Conscious Tutoring and main educator, Christina Lane, is available for professional development sessions or unit implementation support in schools.

Christina is located in Atlanta, Ga but willing to travel for custom opportunities. Christina works with each school to design PD that truly makes an impact and supports existing curriculum. Examples of opportunities include:

  • Leveling up writing in the classroom. We can do a grade level intensive where I attend grade level meetings and work in the classroom to co-teach lessons.

  • Reading workshop model implementations with OG (Science of Reading) intersection.

  • More traditional large group PD workshops with hands-on elements.

  • Using AI as a teacher support tool. For example: creating feedback on writing using custom AI extensions. The teacher is the only person that interacts with the AI but can give back detailed (workshop model preloaded) feedback ideas to each student in seconds.

  • Somatic (nervous system) work in the classroom. Christina is a certified embodiment coach. An important teacher tool is awareness of what freeze looks like during learning and how to navigate the many emotions and learning styles present in the classroom each day.

Christina is a Literacy Specialist with certifications in K to 12 literacy, reading intervention, ESOL and gifted education. Her undergraduate degree is from the University of Central Florida in Elementary Education and her M.Ed. degrees is from Georgia State University. Christina has trained in the Orton Gillingham approach and in the workshop model at Columbia University as part of the Teacher’s College Reaching and Writing project. Christina has experience implementing a variety of curriculum and intervention models across Elementary and Middle grades. She has worked in a service-learning school and a dual-language immersion school. Christina has led teacher teams and founded a constructivist school in Atlanta, GA.

Christina brings a variety of skills and diagnostic tools to the table when working with the students at Conscious Tutoring to develop curriculum, assessments and new intervention models. As a former classroom and support teacher Christina understands how important it is that PD is useful. There is nothing worse than feeling like your time was wasted as a busy public school educator. Providing follow-up support is Christina’s favorite part of working with schools. Christina is also a certified embodiment coach and she see adults for relationship based somatic coaching. These skills and experiences heavily influence all of the work developed at Conscious Tutoring and the support offered to public schools. At the end of the day reading and writing instruction is teaching kids to become critical thinkers and thoughtful communicators.
